How are you feeling?
Pick what fits right now, and we’ll suggest a few things to try.
Start with something short and steady. Slowing the out-breath and using your senses both help.
Let the body lead. Releasing muscle tension and lengthening the exhale can take the edge off.
Progressive muscle relaxation
Tense, then release, one muscle group at a time.
Dandelion breathing
Breathe in, then blow the seeds into the wind.
Coherent breathing
Slow, even breaths, about six a minute, with a blooming flower.
Body scan
Move your attention slowly from your toes to the top of your head.
Pick something slow you can do lying down. Turn on spoken prompts and keep your eyes closed.
Big energy needs somewhere to go. A long, controlled exhale or squeezing and releasing muscles can help.
Be gentle with yourself. These offer warmth and comfort rather than effort.
You don’t have to stop the thoughts. Give them somewhere to go, or give your attention an anchor.
Leaves on a stream
Set each thought on a leaf and watch it float away.
5-4-3-2-1 grounding
Use your five senses to come back to the here and now.
Coherent breathing
Slow, even breaths, about six a minute, with a blooming flower.
Meditation timer
A quiet timer with gentle bells and soft background sound.
Playful pictures make breathing easier to learn. Do it together and let them choose.
Breathing
Slow your breath and your body follows. Each exercise has a gentle visual to breathe along with, and timings you can change.
Dandelion breathing
Breathe in, then blow the seeds into the wind.
Balloon breathing
Fill the balloon in your belly, then let it out slowly.
Box breathing
Four equal sides: in, hold, out, hold. Steady and simple.
4-7-8 breathing
In for 4, hold for 7, out for 8. A favorite before sleep.
Coherent breathing
Slow, even breaths, about six a minute, with a blooming flower.
Shape breathing
Trace a star, a lazy 8 or a hand, one breath at a time.
Candle breathing
Blow so softly that the flame dances but never goes out.
Body & grounding
Come back to the here and now through your senses and your muscles.
Mind & heart
Ways to loosen the grip of busy thoughts and offer yourself some kindness.
